Arts & Culture Programs
TCICS supports Iranian arts, culture, heritage, language, literature, music, dance, storytelling, and creative expression through community-based programs that connect generations and strengthen cultural identity.
Preserving Culture, Inspiring Creativity, and Connecting Community
The Arts & Culture Programs of the Tri-Cities Iranian Cultural Society are designed to preserve, celebrate, and share Iranian cultural heritage in a welcoming and inclusive community environment. These programs create opportunities for people of all ages to experience Persian language, literature, poetry, music, dance, visual arts, storytelling, calligraphy, cultural history, and traditional celebrations.
TCICS recognizes that culture is not only preserved through major festivals. It is also passed on through everyday learning, small gatherings, creative workshops, intergenerational conversations, youth participation, senior programs, and public cultural education. Our goal is to keep Iranian culture alive, visible, and meaningful for both Iranian-Canadian families and the wider multicultural community.
These programs also provide a bridge between generations. Seniors, parents, youth, children, artists, educators, volunteers, and community members can come together to learn from one another, share stories, and build a stronger sense of belonging through culture.
Program Areas
TCICS Arts & Culture Programs include educational, creative, social, and public-facing activities throughout the year.

Activities that bring children, youth, parents, and seniors together to share language, stories, memories, traditions, and cultural knowledge.
Public Cultural Education
Programs that introduce Iranian culture to non-Iranian neighbours, schools, partners, public institutions, and the multicultural community of the Tri-Cities.
Culture Beyond Festivals
Large signature events such as Nowruz, Tirgan, and Chaharshanbeh Suri are important parts of TCICS cultural work, but arts and culture programming should not be limited to annual festivals. A strong cultural society also needs year-round programs that teach, preserve, create, and connect.
Through workshops, classes, cultural circles, performances, exhibitions, and educational programs, TCICS helps Iranian culture remain active in everyday community life.
Activities and Opportunities
This program area can include regular classes, seasonal workshops, cultural gatherings, community performances, and collaborative projects with artists and educators.
What We Can Offer
TCICS can develop arts and culture programs in partnership with artists, instructors, volunteers, schools, libraries, municipalities, seniors, youth, and cultural organizations.
The programs can be designed as weekly classes, short workshops, public demonstrations, family programs, cultural talks, youth activities, or special projects connected to TCICS signature events.
Community Impact
Arts and culture programs strengthen identity, reduce isolation, support youth belonging, and introduce Iranian heritage to the wider community in a positive and inclusive way.
Connected to TCICS Programs
Arts and culture are connected to many TCICS activities, including Senior Club, Diyar Persian School, youth programs, volunteer engagement, and signature cultural events.
Senior Club
Poetry, book reading, calligraphy, music, meditation, film screenings, cultural celebrations, and intergenerational activities can support seniors’ social and cultural connection.
Diyar Persian School
